Dear Members,
The heat is on! Substantial rain is non-existent, and SAWS (San Antonio Water Systems) is pumping water at an unprecedented rate – nearly 290 million gallons per day, a pace usually not seen until late summer. As a result, the aquifer level is progressively falling and Stage 1 drought restrictions are likely to be triggered much sooner than anticipated.
Although SAWS has planned for such extreme situations, this utility company is requesting your immediate assistance regarding water conservation in order to postpone further drops to the aquifer level and further implementing Stage 1 water restrictions.
Please have your irrigation timer programmed for watering once a week as follows:
Last Digit of Street Address Watering Day
0 or 1 Monday
2 or 3 Tuesday
4 or 5 Wednesday
6 or 7 Thursday
8 or 9 Friday
Other important information you should know regarding Stage 1 water restrictions:
• Water waste is prohibited at all times. Water waste includes allowing water to run off into a gutter, ditch, or drain; or failing to repair a controllable leak.
• Please reduce water consumption by any means available.
• Hand watering with a hand held hose, soaker hose, drip irrigation, bucket or watering can is permitted any time and any day.
• Washing impervious cover such as parking lots, driveways, streets, or sidewalks, is prohibited. Health and safety exceptions to this rule may be requested from SAWS in writing.
• Residential washing of vehicles or other equipment is allowed only on assigned watering days and times. A hose with an automatic shut-off nozzle or bucket of five gallons or less may be used. Water should not be allowed to run on the street.
• Use of fountains, waterfalls, or other aesthetic water features-outdoors or indoors – is prohibited.
• All swimming pools must have a minimum of 25 percent of the surface area covered with evaporation screens when not in use.
• Newly planted landscapes may qualify for a “three week exemption”. Please contact SAWS at 704-7297.

Once again, we ask for your immediate assistance and please contact the HOA office if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
The Dominion Homeowners Association, Inc.
